digitizer (2018)
A paradox of modern existence: how we often stand still in the physical world yet are constantly in motion through our digital devices. This work reflects the tension between the present moment and the endless escape offered by our phones, blurring the boundaries between reality and illusion. The installation shows the experience of being ‘inside the phone’. Disconnected from the physical world, yet constantly connected to an expansive virtual realm.
This project was made during a seven week residency for the BredaPhoto festival 2018.
