An Emptiness (2016)
As someone who has lived most of her life in a big and crowded city, I focused in this series on a specific aspect that comes with living in a place like this. Every day you walk by hundreds of people without really seeing them. For the biggest part of this crowd we don`t show our true self. We create some kind of barrier to protect ourselves from getting overfed with impressions, both visually as well as aurally. I have tried to show this so-called barrier with pictures of people standing in front of textured glass, their blurry silhouette leads to not really knowing how they actually look, in this way the rapid and anonymous aspects of the many daily encounters are stressed.
